Job Description
Our law firm is seeking an experienced family law attorney who can assist our clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including divorce, child custody, guardianship of a minor, and post-final judgment modification and contempt actions. Many of our clients are also survivors of domestic violence and/or coercive control. Jobseekers should be equally familiar with prenuptial agreements and be able to effectively engage in oral debate and negotiation even in highly stressful and emotional situations. $80,000 - $100,000 yearly (dependent upon monthly billable hour requirement) plus bonus compensation available
Compensation:$80,000 - $100,000 yearly
Responsibilities:- Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed
- Help solve legal problems for clients through analyzing the situation, understanding their needs, and creating a strategic plan of action
- Communicate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move through the civil litigation process
- Draft pleadings, motions, contracts, marital settlement agreements, judgements, and orders for a high volume of cases
- Keep client files properly organized and up to date
- Ensure timely communication with clients
- Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations
- Licensed in Massachusetts and Rhode Island
- At least 2-3 years of family law practice

While the attorney must be able to attend scheduled court hearings in Rhode Island and Central-Eastern Mass (we are based in Worcester county), office hours and client meetings are completely remote/virtual. We also offer a flexible work schedule and sustainable billable hour requirement (as low as 80 hours/month) to accommodate working parents.
